The importance of oral bacteria (ProBiora)

ProBiora replaces bad bacteria with harmless bacteria to retain bacterial balance within the mouth.

As mentioned previously, while enteric bacteria is understood to be closely related to the onset of various diseases, such as allergic diseases, diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome and colorectal cancer, oral bacteria continues to be overlooked.
While the cause of tooth decay, Streptococcus mutans, is a largely harmless bacteria, the proinflammatory cytokine produced when Porphyromonas gingivalis, a bacteria causing periodontal diseases, or the endotoxin acting as the precursor to the bacteria, enters the blood vessels from the gums is known to reduce insulin resistance and harden the arterial walls, causing diabetes or heart infarctions.
Porphyromonas gingivalis is difficult to completely eliminate even when cleaning the mouth with mouth wash or by brushing one’s teeth.
However, the propagation of Porphyromonas gingivalis can be inhibited by establishing good bacteria within the periodontal tissue making up the oral cavity.
Brushing your teeth at night before going to sleep is vitally important as periodontal disease bacteria propagates at night.
Additionally, taking an oral probiotic supplement after brushing your teeth is an effective means of preventing periodontal disease.
However, using mouth wash after brushing your teeth can remove good bacteria in the mouth, so it is important to avoid excessive mouth wash use.
Oral probiotic supplements are prescribed in 30-day dosages, and are known to adhere to periodontal pockets in the mouth.
The Minato Shiba Clinic prescribes the “ProBiora” oral probiotic supplement. Please feel free to consult with us if you have any concerns regarding periodontal disease.
